3 Day Breast Cancer Walk
Benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure

The Frederick Model Aircraft Club is proud to sponsor Jackie Belote in her efforts in the fight to find a cure for Breast Cancer.  The 3 Day Walk is 60 miles over 3 days (October 3rd, 4th & 5th, 2008) and takes place in Washington, DC.

She must raise $2,200 to be able to participate in the walk.  She has made a tremendous commitment in both fund raising and even the walk itself, the club has donated $100 and this web space to this cause on her behalf.

If you would like to make a tax-deductible donation, find out more information or just offer her your words of encouragement, please visit her webpage.

a note from Jackie...

  Why I walk...
Dear Frederick Model Aircraft Club,

Thank you so much for your generous donation! I was touched beyond words when I received it. You have been such a big part of my life over the years and I am so very proud to know a group of people as fantastic as you all are.

Please know that your donation will go to help save lives. If just one life is saved from breast cancer, that gives a person a lifetime with their family that they would have lost.

I want to let you know that I will proudly be wearing your Logo on my shirt while I walk everyday.

Thank you again for your support!

Sincerely,
Jackie Belote

I want to help bring awareness to every woman so that they know just how important it is to get the routine mammogram screenings that will save their lives from Breast Cancer. It is proven that early detection is the best way to treat and beat Breast Cancer. There are so many women that neglect to have these annual screenings thinking they just don’t have the time, they are too painful or it won’t happen to me. Many go years before they have a screening and find that it is too late once they do. These women need our help.

In this day of technology and knowledge there is no reason why one has to suffer such pain both physically and mentally only to die of this disease. If my walking 60 miles will help to bring awareness to one person so their life is saved I do it without giving it a second thought.

Please join me in supporting this great cause...Jackie.
